I don’t want to promise what I cannot fulfil. But I want to start a habit I get addicted to. I recently read somewhere that it is better to cultivate habits than to set goals. In my situation, I have set many writing goals, which I am by the way very passionate about, but I have somewhat failed to achieve them. So, I have to form a habit of writing. Partly, it is for my improvement, but also, and most importantly, for you, my readers.
I also would like to have a family of readers on my blog like Biko Zulu. Establish writing popularity and loyalty like Ernest Bazanye, and Timothy Bukumunhe among others. Have my articles shared and trended on social media like Gawaya Tegulle, and Daniel Kalinaki among others. And later acquire the fame and legendary status of Philip Matogo, and Hillary Bainemigisha among others. I hope I will be able to sustain this for a good many times.
On my blog, you can notice that I have had many ambitions and promises which I have not met. What’s unknown to you is that this is another of them. I’ve always wanted to write a live taxi (matatu) blog for every journey in a kamunye. Particularly my commutations from school.
[Stop]
[Resume]
I suddenly reached my stop and had to stop. Practically speaking, I reached the stage where I get off from. That’s what we call bus and taxi stops here in Uganda. On traffic signs, and in western movies, I see they are called stops. Don’t ask me why. Today is the following day. This means, that when I got off, that’s where I stopped and I didn’t return to it until now, Thursday 14 2021.
I may not have succeeded yesterday, but I tried and actually started. I just didn’t pen off and post. Today, when I sat in the taxi, I didn’t want to know how many messages I had on WhatsApp. On my mind was my goal, my desired habit. Live travel blogging! So I pulled out my phone, opened the Writer Plus app and started writing. This is the blog.
But what did I want to say yesterday? It was my observation that we had moved a great distance without overtaking any single car. And in fact, that was the case until I got off. Rarely do you notice that with taxis. And rarely do you travel at such snail speeds in a taxi that you can make random observations!
To positive habits, cheers!
Now, let me edit and post.

Thanks, brother. After that, I started. And I don’t think I am stopping. This time, it’s a habit, not a goal.
