Gathered here today
To cease this fray
Recited by Flora amidst her dismay;
And to this bench
The accused professed his defence
Man pled guilty!
Flora here cries
Man breaks his vows
Exchanged at their union
In the beginning – the paradise of Eden
Flora was to yield to Man’s care
But now she’s to die to his indiscretion
Burns all over her body, she nurses a fractured back
Yet, due to broken backs, her family has perished
Her waters – flushed down the drain
Her livelihood stripped away for his own.
By virtue of the powers entrusted upon me
I summon man to submit
To Flora’s necessity of his sworn allegiance
To sow up new fields, replace the old ones
To liberate and replenish the wetlands
And to lift up the Green Banner.
